Dimitri
Dimitri, a con man in St. Petersburg. Dimitri tries to hold auditions with Vladimir, trying to find an Anastasia look alike, in hopes of impressing the Dowager Empress and get the ten million rubles. Upon an accidental meeting, Dimitri accidentally finds the real Anastasia, who at the time, calls herself Anya. Dimitri, later convinces Anya to take a trip to with him and Vladimir to Paris, where they will meet the Dowager, for Anya to get her memories back. However, there must be several things for Anya to learn. It was decided, that while on their trip, that he and Vladimir, would teach Anya, things that would make her a presentable Anastasia. It was during one of these lessons, in which Anya was to learn to dance, that Dimitri finds himself falling inlove with her. It was later in the story that Dimitri realized, that Anya was actually the real Anastasia, after listening to her story of being rescued by a kitchen boy. Knowing, that she is the real Anastasia, Dimitri tries to help her meet the Dowager, no longer caring of the ten million rubles. However, his former plan was discovered and he was slapped by Anya. He quickly tries to fix his mistake by forcibly taking the Dowager, in a taxi cab, to meet Anya, showing her the music box, to prove that he was telling the truth. He was later given the ten million rubles, after the Dowager realized that Anya was the real Anastasia, but he rejects it, saying that he has a change of heart. In the evening, Dimitri, is about to leave when he was confronted by Anastasia, on the way down, after speaking with the Dowager. He bows and takes one last look at her before he leaves. However, he later changed his mind and heads back, rescuing Anya from Rasputin and the two later confessed and eloped. Grand Duchess Anastasia "Anya" Nikolaeva of Russia
Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaeva of Russia, the princess of Russia. Anastia, loves her grandfather, more than any other of her family, and greatly misses her on her frequent trips to Paris. On the 300th anniversary of Romanov rule, Anastasia is given a necklace and music box reading, "Together in Paris". Her happiness is short lived, when a rebellion strikes, killing most of her family, except herself and her grandmother, by the help of a kitchen boy, through a hidden door. While trying to get on a train, leading to Paris, Anastasia trips, falls unconscience, and loses her memory. Through the next ten years, Anastasia is raised in an orphan home, calling herself as Anya. She leaves the orphanage, after officially turning and sets out to live her life, refusing the path leading to the fishing industry and instead sets out towards St. Petersburg. While walking, she stumbles upon a young puppy, who ended up following her, and so she decides to name him Pooka. Later she arrives at St. Petersburg and decides to trespass inside a broken down palace. There she vaguely remembers, dancing, with a king. However, she makes too many noises and ends up being spotted by Dimitri and Vladimir. Wanting to know who she was and feeling an urge to find her family, Anya joins Dimitri and Vlad on a trip to Paris, hoping her memories will return. On the way she learns that she must meet the Dowager and to do that she must learn many things, such as dancing, her family tree, bicycling, etc. She later arrives in Paris and is confronted and interrogated by, Sophie, the Dowagers cousin and Vladimirs current love interest. To her delight Anya successfully passes and spends the whole day shopping to get ready for her meeting with the Dowager. She becomes very nervous and is later told to relax by Dimitri. Later she discovers, Dimitri's original plan and angrily slaps him and packs. However, she meets the Dowager and slowly her memory comes back to her. She is now crowned as a princess again. Upon her grandmother's wise words, Anya realizes that Dimitri did not take the money and realizes that she loves him. She later ends up winning a battle against Rasputin with the help of Dimitri and the two confessed and later eloped. | |||
